Few boat builders can trace their linage back as far as Canal Transport Services. Based on the Northern reaches of the Birmingham Canal Navigations, they have been building shapely craft for nearly 60 years.
Commissioned in 1982, Andante is a traditional boat, and at 40ft in length, with a gutsy 30hp Thornycroft engine, has the whole of the UK connected canal and river system well within her reach.
Some recent upgrades have been carried out which include a shower room refit, improvements to the electrical system with new carpets and upholstery fitted.
She also benefits from a total repaint by none other than John Barnard in 2019.
Accommodation on board includes two make up double berths in the saloon, with privacy provided by divisional curtains and there is also provision for a childs single berth in the aft cabin.
Presently cabin warmth is provided by a catalytic gas heater in the saloon, but of course it may be possible, with a little thought to fit a solid fuel stove or even diesel fired heating.
