J D Boat Services was founded in 1986 as a father and son partnership. They have been building the steelwork and fitting them out both for shared ownership and private owners.

Sapphire is fitted out in a basic style with a country cottage feel and layout, meaning the saloon is forward and the bedroom is aft with a central bathroom.

Currently Sapphire sleeps two but there is plenty of space in the saloon to replace the existing loose furniture with a sofa bed to increase the accommodation.

Presently onboard power is provided by a landline and a small stand alone modified sine wave inverter. However it should be possible to upgrade the entire electrical system with a more powerful pure sine wave inverter to enable you to bring larger appliances aboard.

Cabin warmth for all round year use is provided by a Squirrel solid fuel stove and near silent running gas fired central heating.

53ft boats at this price do not come along every day, so you may be thinking that there is a catch, and it has to be said that she would benefit from some tlc. These improvements should not be beyond the scope of someone with rudimentary diy skills.
