An 18ft clinker built racing / dayboat. JANICE sail no. C44 This 3/4 decked ,bermudan-rigged classic boat was originally built in 1955 by James & Stone of Brightlingsea. She has now been completely rebuilt to class specifications by Rob Maloney of Wivenhoe using the West system epoxy coating technique inside and out as developed on many previous rebuilds giving a low maintenance and long further life. The rebuild also incorporates many improvements allowed within the class spec. i.e. added buoyancy, stainless steel rudder blade, new strengthened c/board case, alloy mast and more.
The class is the subject of a 5 page article in the January 2017 Classic Boat magazine giving full details and pictures of the class. (copy available if required)
There is a large fleet sailing regularly at Brightlingsea now.
The rebuild was completed late 2015 and survey carried out by Colne Yacht Surveys ltd.
A good photographic history of the rebuild is available with above survey report.
Janice has not been launched since the rebuild*** and has been dry stored so in still in "as rebuilt condition"
She is available with a road trailer if required and is ready to sail / race with little further work to do.
